Vizilite® is used to help oral healthcare professionals identify, evaluate, monitor and mark abnormal oral cell lesions which are suspicious for pathology, including precancerous and cancerous cells. Vizilite® is a device that assists the professional in more readily detecting these suspicious cells than would be possible during a visual exam. In a clinical study, Vizilite® has been shown to also significantly reduce the number of false positive lesions identified in visual examinations; this, in turn, leads to the performance of fewer biopsies, with the consequent need for healing and the accompaniment of emotional anxiety.
